A Dr. Seuss Weekend

We were all overjoyed, for six months were just way too long,
To welcome Nana and Grandpa back home from Hong Kong.

They unpacked their bags and their first order of biz
Was to do something fun with Hubby and I and the Kids!

We knew there was really only one thing we could do
We'd go and see the new movie "Horton Hears a Who!"

Everyone sat so quietly the whole movie through, except for the Guy
Who tried to wander the aisles to say "Hi" to everyone close by!

The movie was so grand, we each had a super marvelous time
And it seemed all we could do for the rest of the day was Rhyme!

But what could we do after such a superly-fun family time stop?
Why, we'd get colored pancakes with eggs and ham at IHOP!

The suckers were great but the green eggs, well, they took a while
We said a great big "thank you" to Nana and Grandpa with a smile!

So now I can finally quote my favorite "Hortonism" with joy and with glee,
"You worry about your meatball Mr. Mayor, and leave the freaking out to me!"

(Author's Note: ouch!)

Who knew you were such a rhymer? It was fun...and yes, Megs, everyone except Ryan and Ellie perferred the regular maple syrup on their pancakes! Ellie has already quoted to me several times, "a person is a person no matter how small!" Super fun day!
